Subject
A collage of an image of people standing in a line in front of a police car. The black text reads "From Stonewall to Charlotte Black Lives Matter No pride in racism and white complicity. No pride in assimilation that grants safety to some while leaving others behind. We will not celebrate 'progress' still built on black death. We came from riots, From bottles hurled at police, from barricades behind fires blazing in the night. On June 28, 1969, queer and trans folks fought back with their high heels, with bricks, with their bodies, against the constant violence of the police. Today we march in the spirit of queer rage. We honor Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson, the Compton Cafeteria rioters, the 733 people the police have murdered and the 19 transgender people killed this year. We march in solidarity with the Charlotte Uprising. Trans and queer people of color, queer working class and poor folks, and queer youth still experience continuous violence through policing, incarceration, and deportation. There is no future for us in capitalism, no future for us in hetero-normativity, no future for us under the terror of white supremacy."
